Meet Layla: the AI admin assistant your small business didn't know it needed
You're good at what you do. It's everything around it that's pulling you under. The inbox you can't get to the bottom of. The quotes you meant to chase. A calendar that doesn't match what's really going on. And a list in your head that gets longer every night.
Layla is an AI admin assistant from CH Digitals in Emerald, Queensland, coming in 2027. She's built for the owner who's lost track of where the business is up to.
From the moment she's set up and you've approved what she can read (your email, your calendar, your files), Layla gets to work. She'll hand you your very first roadmap: where your business is really at, what needs you right now, and a clear path to where you can get to with her help. For the first time in a long time, you'll be able to breathe.
Then she picks up the admin nobody's had time for and keeps it moving. You don't have to explain the whole business to her first. She works that out. The final say, and the sending, stay with you.
And she comes with guard rails built in: she doesn't send, she doesn't delete, and she doesn't act behind your back.
- Now
- in testing on Windows, being built out to the full Layla described here. A Mac version is planned once the Windows version is finished and out for testing.
- Planned
- 2027 · workshops in Emerald first, then regional Queensland · an online course for everywhere else · dates and pricing not set
“Can AI do this?”
“Should AI be allowed to do this without me?”

Why did Kathryn build Layla?
Kathryn Weekley from CH Digitals in Emerald, Queensland, has spent this year building AI into her own businesses and learning the hard way what it should and shouldn't be trusted with. Layla is everything she knows now, not what she knew ten months ago. Her background is how businesses run, and that starts with solid admin.
Memory built in, so you don't have to keep explaining
Layla doesn't rely on remembering. From the moment she's set up, she writes it down: every job, every follow-up, every decision you make, and when you made it. Each time you open her, she reads that record first, not what she thinks she remembers. AI memory keeps getting better, but it still slips, and no AI is perfect, Layla included. Her system is built to catch what memory alone would miss, so a decision you made two weeks ago doesn't get lost, or quietly changed on a busy day.
So Layla comes with guard rails built in from day one:
- She reads only what you approve, read-only, and you can switch her reading off at any time.
- She doesn't send anything. Every draft waits for you.
- She doesn't delete anything.
- She's built to ask before she changes anything, and to tell you what she did at the end of every job.
- A note in a file is a note, not an order, and passwords are described, not copied.
What that year taught her, and what Layla does about it:
- She ended up with a new admin job: managing the AI that was meant to save her time. So: Layla keeps the lists and shows you what needs you each time you open her.
- She kept explaining her business to AI, over and over. So: Layla works your business out for herself, and you check she's got it right.
- The question changed from "Can AI do this?" to "Should AI be allowed to do this without me?"So: Layla drafts, you send, and she does nothing behind your back.
Layla is a year of those lessons, packaged up so you start where Kathryn is now and skip the hard part.
What does Layla take off your plate?
Layla takes the whole pile, not just one job. She reads what you've approved, finds everything that's open, overdue or slipping, and turns it into one clear plan. Then she works through it with you, drafting the follow-ups, keeping every list current and telling you what's next, so it stops living in your head at 2am.
Layla helps by
Reading the email, calendar and files you approve and handing you one current picture of the business, with a roadmap for what to tackle first.
Layla helps by
Finding what's waiting on you, what's waiting on others and what may have been missed, then drafting the follow-ups, ready for you to send.
Layla helps by
Catching it with the actual date and putting it on the right list, so it's waiting for you next time you open her.
Layla helps by
Keeping your work, clients and ideas lists current: what's open, who's on it and what's next.
Layla helps by
Working it out from what you've approved and only asking about the gaps. You check her picture and correct anything she's got wrong.
Layla helps by
Writing a weekly wrap from your lists: what's done, overdue, in progress, stuck or gone quiet. Then she checks it with you.
Layla helps by
She doesn't send, and she doesn't delete. Every draft waits for you, and she tells you what she did at the end of every job.

Hands-on workshops are planned, so you'd be set up in person, starting in Emerald, and an online course will step you through it from anywhere.
What does Layla do, and what stays with you?
Layla does the heavy lifting. You keep the final say. She reads only what you've approved, and nothing goes out without you. Here's how the work splits once she's in your business.

|---|---|
| Gets across your business.Reads the email, calendar and files you approve, read-only, and builds one current picture. | Choosing exactly what she can read. |
| Hands you a roadmap. What needs you now, what's waiting, what's slipped, and where you can get to next. | Deciding what to tackle first. |
| Drafts the work.Replies, follow-ups, quote cover letters, reminders, notes and summaries, ready to send. | Reading, changing and sending each one. |
| Keeps the lists.Work, clients and ideas, kept current, with every follow-up on its real date. | Who does what, and when it's done. |
| Writes up the routines. The regular jobs, written up for you to run on your own schedule. | When they run. |
| Books it in.Adds entries to your calendar. She doesn't delete them. | Your calendar, your call. |
| Wraps up the week. What's done, overdue, stuck or gone quiet, in one short summary. | Correcting anything that's wrong. |
| Keeps it private. Each client's work kept separate, passwords described rather than copied, and a note in a file treated as a note, not an order. | Who sees what. |

How does Layla get to know my business?
She works it out for you. Once she's set up and you've approved what she can read, Layla goes through your email, calendar and files and hands you your first roadmap. You don't have to explain the whole business first. She only asks about the gaps, and you check she's got it right.

You choose what she reads
Your email, calendar and files, read-only. You approve exactly what's in, and what stays out. - 2

She builds a current picture of the business and asks only about what she can't work out. - 3
You check it
What she found is kept apart from what she's assuming. You correct anything she's got wrong. - 4
She hands you the roadmap
What to tackle first, with one real job drafted before you close the lid.
What won't Layla do?
Layla doesn't send, doesn't delete and doesn't act on her own. She reads only what you approve, every draft waits for you, every decision is written down, and you can switch her reading off at any time.
Where does Layla take my business from there?
Your first roadmap is just the start. Each time you open her, Layla brings the picture up to date and helps you move forward, with growth and gap suggestions drawn only from your own business: ways to market it, and ways to take the repetitive work off your plate. She doesn't give financial, legal or tax advice. Some of this arrives in stages after launch.
And in everything she does, Layla deletes nothing.
What do owners ask about Layla?
Here are straight answers about Layla: when she'll be ready, what she'll cost, who she's for, how she works, what you need, and what happens to your information. If your question isn't here, you can ask Kathryn directly through the contact page.
When will Layla be available?
Layla is in testing now and planned for 2027. Hands-on workshops are planned to start in Emerald, then regional Queensland, with an online course for everyone else. Exact dates aren't set. Join the list and you'll hear first. Until then, nothing is for sale and there's nothing to book.
What will Layla cost?
Pricing isn't set yet. Layla is still in testing, so there's no price, no deposit and nothing to pay right now. People on the list will hear first when pricing is decided. Joining is free and doesn't commit you to anything.
Is Layla right for my business?
Layla is for small business owners anywhere in Australia who've lost track of where things are up to: tradies, retailers and service businesses. If your admin lives across your inbox, your calendar and your head, and you want a clear plan with the final say still yours, she's built for you.
How does Layla work?
Once she's set up, you approve what she can read: your email, calendar and files, read-only. She works out where the business is at and hands you your first roadmap. After that, each time you open her she brings the picture up to date, shows what's overdue and what's coming, drafts the work and tells you what she did. You make the calls and do the sending.
Is Layla an AI receptionist, or does she run on her own?
She isn't an AI receptionist: she doesn't answer calls or messages for you. She doesn't run off on her own, either. She's built to ask before she changes anything, she doesn't send or delete, and nothing goes out unless you send it. She does the admin; you decide what happens next.
What do I need to use Layla, and does she work on a Mac?
Layla is planned for Windows and Mac, so you'll need either computer, plus Claude Code and your own Claude account. Claude is the AI Layla runs on, made by Anthropic. Windows is being finished first, and the Mac version is built straight after it, so both are planned for launch.
Can Layla read my email, or send emails for me?
Layla reads the email and calendar you approve, read-only, and leaves drafts ready for you to send. She doesn't send them herself, and she doesn't move, file or delete anything in your inbox or calendar. An extra tool you add yourself, by name, can do whatever it's built to do.
What happens to my information?
Layla reads only the email, calendar and files you approve. Her notes and lists are plain files on your computer you can read. She runs on Claude, the AI made by Anthropic, under your own Claude account: when she reads something to help you, Claude processes it to give you an answer, the same as when you use Claude yourself, under your account's terms. You can switch her reading off at any time. Our privacy policy covers this page.
Does Layla keep track of my clients and follow-ups?
Yes. She keeps a work list, a clients list (who looks after each client) and an ideas list, and keeps them current. Say "remind me" or "by Friday" and she puts it on the right list with the actual date, checking first if it's vague. You see what's due every time you open her.
What does Layla write for me?
Replies, follow-ups, quote cover letters, invoice reminders, notes, summaries and short documents, plus a weekly wrap of where everything's up to. Messy notes come back tidy. Each client's work stays in its own folder. Nothing goes out on its own: every draft sits ready for you to read, change and send.
What if a file has a password in it, or tells her to do something?
If Layla finds a password, key, card or bank detail, she's built to say what it is and where, without copying it into a draft, a list or the chat. Her checks refuse writing anything that looks like a key. If a file tells her to do something, she's built to tell you, not do it.
How do I get Layla set up, and can I remove her?
You won't be on your own. You can be set up in person at a hands-on workshop, starting in Emerald and then regional Queensland, or work through it step by step in an online course. Both are planned, and dates and pricing aren't set yet. If you ever stop using her, removing her means deleting one folder: nothing of hers is installed anywhere else on your computer.
